We had a rainy June, followed by a heat filled July thusfar! "The result has been ruination and despair." (Name that Book/Movie!) Actually, the heat has made it hard to keep my pots hydrated sufficiently, and some grasshoppers have started eating my Dahlias! Arrggg! But, here are a few shots I took of the garden the other day.
Thanks for all your "Welcome Back" comments! It make me feel very happy, and it's great to have my garden friends! A few more blooms have come out that I need to take pictures of! I adore flowers.
Good news! Kip and I harvested our first tomato today. We split it in two and it was superb.

Gorgeous pictures! The summer weather is usually filled with extremes- cold or hot, dry or wet. Makes gardening interesting. :-)

Some wonderful flowers! Is Kip's nose "unstung"? (Ah, the surprises of life!)
Hope you feel better soon. The late night theological did me in, too!
I want you to teach me to keep flowers alive!! HELP!!
Lovely pictures = your flowers don't seem to have suffered from whatever weather they have had. I love that dahlia - I have just got my first one in bloom.
Re: the quote, I keep imagining Colin Firth saying it. Am I even close? PS. Looking at flights back to UT...
Hi Red Clover, that Dahlia looks nice. Hot or dry weather is a problem for pots and containers. At the moment we have no such problems here as its rained everyday in July bar 4. Bob.
The pictures ARE beautiful. I love the Dahlia. I'm sorry to say that my Green thumb is not so green. It's supposed to get up to 108 degrees here today. There's no way to keep them all watered when they need it. Is it possible that flowers enjoy reincarnation?
Robert I mean Bob grows wondeful dahlia's, we have had them for sale the last two weeks in the shop. They sell very quickly, people seam to want to buy plants that come up every year lately. Vicki
